  In this paper the most significant realized results in the field of electric energy own consumption rationalization of power plants, i.e. larger consumer with motors on medium voltage (6 kV), are presented. At first a theoretical brief of losses dependencies and reactive load dependencies from motor voltage values is given. Then, procedures for calculation and analysis of reactive load and losses dependencies from voltage values in consumer power systems with motors are presented. Proceedings used for the reduction of electric energy consumption, are based on analysis of reactive load and losses dependencies mentioned from voltage values, for separate drives and complete consumer load. Concrete results in reduction of electric energy consumption, that are realized by the proceedings, evaluate on 2 035 000 kWh/year active and 28 000 000 kvarh/year reactive energy on the Power plant ”Nikola Tesla” A, Obrenovac. « hide
